Student of the Month

SKGP was one of two kindergartners at her school to get the Student Of The Month award. She is also consistently in the top three weekly point champions in her class, which gets her a little bag of junk each week. Earlier in the school year, she was a Knight, which got her a pizza party with the principal.

We're very proud of her.

The Inside View

DMP is buying a house in Gilroy. It's under construction now. We visited it the other day. I went inside and looked around; he didn't. What's up with that?

It's Called A Bridge

Gilroy, my new home town, seems to have missed the days at planning school when learning about traffic flow. Nothing goes from point A to point B the way it should. Major freeway offramp dumps into residential neighborhood. Big streets go nowhere.

And when it rains, a major route from east to west is blocked off. The road goes through the creek, and when the creek rises, they shut the gates. I hear bridges are useful for solving this sort of problem, but alas Gilroy doesn't seem to believe in them.

I have now joined the new century. for xmas I got tivo and a treo 650 smartphone.

of course both devices were rendered obsolete the next week at CES.

I picked up a hitchhiker crossing the hoover dam. I didn't let her smoke in my car.

I'm an uncle

Eva Marie Stone was born on December 27, 2005. This is my first experience with uncle-hood, and I chickened out when the chance to hold her presented itself. I guess I don't want to break someone else's kids...

I'm excited about this. She's soo small and cute.
